Insurance only covers sonograms for medical reasons. The places that offer 3-D sonograms are not associated with doctor's offices, so it isn't covered by insurance. The only time I could figure it would be is if the local radiation site near you has advanced enough equipment that THEY offer 3-D scans - in which case you can't have it done there unless you are sent there by your OBGYN.Originally Posted by christa
As for the cost - they offer different packages. The place near me has a package for as "cheap" as $120 and it goes up another $200 depending on what you want included - black and white pictures, color pictures, screen captures from the scan, the scan on DVD... Heck, I'd be happy with the $120 one. I just want to see my baby in 3-D!
