I think, perhaps, that your mom, like many, is a bit "shortsighted" when it comes to your wellbeing. She isn't a pet lover and simply can't imagine the additional stress you would endure if you had to try and find loving homes for all of those kitties, Kelly. But we DO understand, and thank goodness for your good friend, Cici!

I'm also so happy that your job looks promising and that you are feeling well enough to endure the training!!!!!

As much as you will miss your apartment, things are looking up for you, my friend!!!!!

Well said Logan! I agree. Non pet lovers just can't understand or fathom the feelings we have for our furry family members. I truly believe that Kelly needs her kitties to help with her healing process and in developing her new life.
Kelly, I'm just so glad that CiCi is able to let you stay with her until you get back on your feet. What a blessing that is! I know that your mom's place would not be a good environment for you to be, and I'm sad that she just can't understand your commitment to your kitties. It just shows what a loving, caring and responsible meowmie that you are. You are a wonderful and sweet person, honey!
I'm also so happy that you're enjoying your job! That's even better! Once you get into the swing of things, it will hopefully keep your mind occupied from being sick.

It amazes me how people can be so ignorant when it comes to people's pets. My brother was the was the same way. I told him (this was before Mark offered his apartment) Sue would only let me bring MooShoo (cuz he doesn't shed) and he got furious saying I need to worry about myself and not the "damn" cats. I love my brother dearly, but THAT really pissed me off.
My kits are my babies and have been there for me no matter what.

Like I said in my cellphone message, I'm so glad you've got a good friend in Cici. As far as your mother is concerned, the whole thing with the cats is HER issue, not yours. You've found alternative housing that includes your cats and that is all that matters. Please try not to let your Mom's negative attitude towards your furbabies upset you (I know, so easy to say but difficult to do). The last thing you need to do is get any sicker because of her issue. You need to take care of yourself.

Hang in there honey!! We're both in the same boat and have been through much. But somehow things seem to turn around when you least expect it.

The only thing I can say is that I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST FOR YOU AND YOUR FURBABIES!!!!!!

I feel sad for what happens to you and your mother . But I know things will get better and better! Keep on being positive, your job will help for sure!

Onwards and upwards eh Kelly? you sure have had your challenges of late, and I am very happy to hear about the new job, but in the same breath so sorry about the apartment, just see it as a stepping stone, in time you will have your independence back, thank goodness for your kind friend, I am sad your mother does not understand the love you have for your pets, but at the same time I guess five kitties is a big ask,especially in her new expensive home.

You will be much happier at your friends, because she has welcomed you and your kitties with open arms, so for now that is the best place on offer and I am sure you will do much better there than if your mother gave in and reluctantly said yes, that would probably cause you untold stress, which you my dear do not need right now.

Good luck with everything sweetie and know we are always here to lend and ear and a shoulder to cry on okey Dokey.

Yes, CiCi is wonderful for having me....she is indeed an angel to me.

My mom and I are having more issues at the moment. Should be interesting to see if she ever comes around. But, like you all said, these are her issues not mine.

Work is going well so far. I really like what I do and the patients I'm meeting. Yay!
