First, I need to thank you all for your continued support and prayers. Lately, I've been telling myself that while my life has been a rollarcoaster, God has indeed blessed me with the family I'd have chosen if given the chance. (((((hugs to you all)))))
Long story short, due to the financial implications of my illness, I'm being forced to discontinue my lease here. I'm going to be moving (with all five of my cats) to my great friend CiCi's house. My last day in my apartment is Sunday, October 30th. I'm upset, but need to remain positive, as I cannot make myself sick.
As a result, my mom is very angry. She'd rather have me "get rid of my cats" and move in with her.I'm sad she can't see what they mean to me...and that I'd never part with them like that.
I do, however have some fairly good news regarding my health. I went to see my specialist at Cedars on Thursday and he validated the pain I've been having for over 5 years. He thinks its a nerve ending issue. He said we could try a nerve blocker through the back...but he, nor I, were thrilled about that option. Instead, he's calling my GI and is sending me to a pain management specialist close to me. In the mean time, he's given me more than enough pain medicine that will hopefully keep me out of the ER/hospital.
I'm sad to see my independence go away, but with time, I'll be able to save enough $$ and move to my own place again. I'm so lucky...well, blessed, that I have friends like CiCi and you guys. I don't have any idea what I'd do without you all.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know what's been going on in my life.
Love, Kelly
P.S. I LOVE my job!! I trained all last week and tomorrow I'm shadowing the person who's job I'm taking (she got promoted to the ER). I'll be there at 6:30 a.m. to see how we open up...and watch her admit patients all day. I'm really looking forward to that.
