Yeah!!!!!! Go Donna!!!!! I love the way you are so straight forward.
Kim, you know I love you dear friend.
I have been here since February of 2002 and I don't know how many times I have read when a rescuer has said that this was it, I am taking a break. DO YOU BLAME THEM!!!! I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be for you all. I don't know if you remember a few years ago when I rescued the neighbours cat because they were too ignorant to take care of it. I took it in and found a home for it. In the past I have rescued mama cats and their babies from outside and found homes for them, but this is not something that I do on a regular basis. I know myself enough to say that I could not do this on a regular basis. I am not that strong of a person or as devoted as all of the rescuers here on Pt, including yourself. That's why I admire you people so much for what you do. Look at Poppy for example. I was not suppose to keep him, but nursing him back to health and bonding with him, there was no way I could let him go. If I was devoted to rescue work, my gosh, I would have 30 cats or more by now. That's why I have such respect for you and others because you do your job so well.
Sure you said not too long ago that you were giving up rescue work because of your health and other issues, but I knew, like others did, that you couldn't. It is born in you to help these defenseless, precious babies, What you did for Angel and the others is because you loved them enough to let them go to a better enviroment which was more suited for them. Don't ever feel guilty for that. It is in you to help these babies no matter what and it will always be that way. Yes, you may have to take a break now and then from it, but is so totally understandable as it can be so overwhelming at times that you do need to take time for yourself. Rescue work is the most rewarding job, but you do need to step back now and then and take care of YOU. Anyone who cannot understand that, is a fool.
You know what you are doing is right, that is the main thing. The hell what other people think. You are the one that are helping these creatures of GOD, not them.
Take a break now and then, as you deserve it, but never stop being who you are. A caring, loving devoted rescue worker.
Love you...Take Care....Huggies
