It is, and I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. It's something we all know we have to face someday, but we all hope that someday never really comes.

Another sign to watch for.....usually cats with kidney failure end up with high blood pressure, which can eventually make them go blind. I think this is what happened to Peanut because she never had cataracts or anything like that. It was jus tall of a sudden one day she couldn't see. That, and how it changed her behavior, was the deciding factor for us in her case. Her quality of life was fine before that - she was still enjoying herself - but after she went blind she would just sit, seemingly afraid to move.

Glad to hear Max has perked up. Doesn't matter if it's the weather or the fluids or the food or why ever. The point is he has perked up and enjoying life as usual, which makes it all worth it. Give him extra gentle hugs for me tonight, and more {{{hugs}}} sent to you.
