Thank you all for your prayers and hugs. They are much appreciated. There have been times when the needle is hard to insert and sometimes I just let it go and try again the next night. I poke in a differnt spot each time.

LOL, the needle coming out has happened to me also. Yes, it's awful at the time but now I laugh about it.
I must admit that tonight Max seems to be almost back to normal. His input and output are good and he is more alert and talking. Then again, that could be because our outside temp has cooled off significantly. Makes for comfortable sleeping again. Doesn't matter to me...I'm taking it as a good sign.
That sad part is that he's just a carcass with fur....skin, bones and fur. It's so hard to watch.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
