    Rats, Rats, and more Rats!

My friend got two rats the other day. A hairless male and a grey and white female. She sent the male off to get neutered yesterday. She brought the female to work with her. It made me want ratties something fierce! I'm not for sure, but I have a spot for them in the bedroom and depending on how Christmas goes I might wanna add a couple to my clan of critters.

I will forever recommend rats as great pets. They're just so intelligent and fun, and almost human-like, IMO! I swear they can read your emotions as soon as you walk through the door. If you do add some to your clan, you will never regret it.

If only I could find this particular picture of my Ophie when she was a baby... it always gives people that extra nudge to add a pair to the family,! Hehe

They're addicting. They are much more interactive than other rodents. They might be a bit expensive, my girls might need to see a vet about their teeth as they aren't wearing down as good as I'd like them to.

2 of the girls I rescued from being feeders were pregnant. One of them wouldn't care for her babies at all, so we put them in with the mom that had hers first. She nursed all 17 babies like a pro. All of the older babies have gone to new homes, but we still have the younger ones.. It is veryyy hard to even think about parting with them.

Here are some pics of the little peanuts.

    Girls:

    Agouti berk dumbo

    Black berk dumbo

    Other black berk dumbo

Lynn - agouti capped dumbo (one of my keeper girlies)

    Black berk

    Lynn & her "twin" brother.

Mocha the babysitter (She is actually the mom of this litter), and some of the girls.

Rats are wonderful pets, I love them sooo much.

This little one looks like my Hailey. I just love Dumbos! Hailey is so goofy, loving and sweet. I have never had a rat like her before. If she hears me come in the room she is up and wanting to come out.

Mocha is beautiful. I've never seen a pattern like that.
