    Update On Hazel

The vet just called and said the Humane Society tagged "Hazel" in 1994, which she was 2 years old then! They were unable to reach anyone at the number that was in the data base! Hazel will remain with us unless they find the owners, or we find her a really good home. I named her Hazel because she did remind me of an older cat. I told Kevin "she's old, poor thing". It amazes me how she's survived. I will post more pictures soon!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Oh!!!! So she is 12 years old. Of course if her owners moved and didn't change the database information it may be difficult to find them.

    That's true, unfortunately. Good luck!

And wow, she did not look like a 12 year-old in that picture you have posted! She's such a beautiful old lady then...

Well, I've got my fingers crossed that she will be found by her family one of these days but it's great to know she has a forever home with you.

There are some websites you can post on that might get a result some day. (You probably already know about some). It's like throwing a bottle into the ocean, but it's worth a try. Hazel has certainly beaten the odds so far.

Ask your vet about microchipping. ~ It could have saved Kuhio's life.

Thanks for links! It never hurts to try! I wish she could be reunited with her family, but at least she's safe now.

Wouldn't it be amazing if she turned into one of those "Lost-for-6-years-and-the-family-had-given-up-all-hope" stories?

In the meantime, how's she doing? Adjusting well?

I thought the same thing! She is adjusting VERY well. She is such a calm/sweet cat. I'm positive her owners are sick over losing her!
