    update on lexie

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR LOVELY REPLIES, THEY REALLY TOUCHED MY HEART, ITS GREAT TO HAVE SUCH SUPPORT FROM PEOPLE I DONT EVEN KNOW YET, THANKS FOR THOSE LOVELY NOSE KISSES TOO.
LEXIE IF GOOD, A LITTLE SCARED AT TIMES, HAS TAKEN TO BEING UPSTAIRS IN MY DAUGHTERS ROOM, YESTERDAY SHE WAS ON TOP OF THE BED BUT TODAY SHE HAS DECIDED TO SPEND MOST OF THE DAY UNDER IT, BUT SHE IS HAPPY AND CONTENT, SHE INDEED IS A FUR ANGEL .
I WOULD LOVE SOME ADVICE, SHOULD I KEEP LEXIE INSIDE FOR AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE INTRODUCING HER TO HER OUTSIDE ENVIROMENT?
I DONT THINK ASH AND LEXIE WILL BE FRIENDS UNFORTUNATELY, BUT IF THEY TOLERATE EACH OTHER THAT WILL HAVE TO DO.
    ONCE AGAIN THANKS EVERYONE.
    Furangels only lent.

1st) don't automatically assume your cats will not bond. Sometimes it takes more time than others.
2nd) I do not believe in allowing cats outdoors so I will stay out of that part of your question.

I am glad she is coming alond nicely.

I just got a new kitten for Christmas (my Christmas present to myself) and after three months Emily (my older cat) and Tanner (the kitten) are still getting to know each other (but the three of us sleep together at night ). But it takes time and patience (and some kitty treats and wine), so don't assume that they won't get along.

I also agree with about the outdoor thing, so I will keep out of it.

Be patient and they will do fine.

I have six cats, and it has taken different amounts of time for each to bond. The two littermates, after a long, long, time of being besties with each other, now are not. The boy is now besties with one of my 'older' cats..so, time does ALOT.

As to the outside thing, I will admit to 'letting' my cats outside into my COMPLETELY fenced back yard, that is COMPLETELY surrounded by other COMPLETELY fenced in yards. So, in the remote chance they escaped my yard, they are still in fenced in areas. I am ALWAYS out there with them, and they are closely supervised, even still. Having said that, I DO NOT think you should let your cats roam, and certainly not ones that are new to you and the area. That is a recipe for heartbreak. (I don't know why my friends were so weenie about posting their views on keeping the kitties inside...maybe it is the 'new, softer' side of them...I, on the other hand, have no problem telling you my thoughts..he he).
