Again,
SCJ says,
"Go forth, be humble....You can't win every race....second place is just as good"
Amen.

That wreck just took my breath away. I was so glad that he got out and was alright. Those cars sure have come a long way.
And I agree, Tony shouldn't have stopped. I was really surprised he did. Oh well.
Insterenting facts Amy. Let's hope it works out like that!

Hmmmmmm.....
'nother pole for car #5
keeps Mark's Chase hopes alive.
He just keeps on going'
all the while showing
he's not just on a "Sunday drive"
dear StockCarJesus,
thanks for doing that thing you did in the final laps of today's NW race. I was starting to wonder if you were watching ;) I owe ya one!
We were on the way home from the Husky Hike in Cleveland and were listening to the race-well all except the last 12 laps...and I guess that's where it got good.
I really do wish Kyle would have won-I think he deserved it, but I sure was glad to see Joey win. Now all those people that thought he would be "scared" to get back in the car-they know better;)
Also while we were coming home we were listening to Sirius NASCAR 128-Dialed In w/ Claire B. Lang. People were calling in and saying that Kyle gave Joey that win...can you believe it?! Also that Joe Gibbs told Kyle to let him have it. There is no way that Kyle would give a win away. Nope, he's not that nice. What driver would be? Crazy people:rolleyes:
They were probablly the same people who were calling in this week and saying Joey shouldn't have been scared last week! I love 128, but I can't believe some of the things people come up with!!
If it was Joey's first win or something, maybe, but this is the 4th time this season that Joey has run Kyle down and passed him with less then 10 to go. I think Joey has just gotten used to the Nationwide series and is that good. I think we are going to see that carry over to the Cup car next year, when he starts going back to tracks for the 2nd and 3rd time. I just wonder, how the relationship between Kyle and Joey will progress of the next few years...I don't think Kyle like losing to his teammate over and over again.
Oh Jesus of Stock Cars.
Let us have a good, clean race, with yellow flags for debris on the track only.
Give us drafting and passes and no running it into the marbles.
Give us the best pit stops and a safe race for all.
Amen.
But if all the chasers except for the #5 somehow find their way into the turn 4 wall without injuring themselves I won't complain either.
:D
Happy Sunday!!! :cool::D:cool::D
:p
Tony WHO ??
It's been a while.
;)
Woo Hoo! Tony "Smoked" Em':D
I kept wondering when something bad was going to happen, luckily it never did! If he can just keep this up he may just walk away with the Championship!
Denny had a great day too.
That's for sure. The look on his face at that press conference, not a good one.
SCJ,
I humbly ask for your divine intervention this weekend, in California.
Amen.
I balme Kesolowski...wish Denny could have won! Oh well, way to go Joey!!!
I didn't get to see the race but heard it was pretty good.
Go Joey:D
What's up with JL's dad?
I heard he got his ANNUAL credential pulled!
yeah DaddyLo had a "discussion" with Greg Biffle, after Greg threatened to put Joey in the wall... and did so.
IMO , Nascar needs to come down on Biffle. This is behaviour that has gone on to long. If he has
a problem it needs to be solved off track.
I had a sneaking suspicion
that Johnson would assume the position
at the top of the Chase
by winning a race. :(
Now Mark's on a 12-point mission.
Joey's Dad reminds me of a stage mom. I think at some point Joey is going to have to tell him to back off and let him fight his own battles.
What a finish! Can't believe Tony rallied back for a Top 5.
I don't want to admit how superstitous I am, but Shlitz is Tony's Beer of choice. I have only found 1 local place that carries it, and they were out from after Watkins Glen, but I found a 12 pack, just before Dover. I don't know what I am going to do next week in Charlotte....since I will be at the race!! I hope we can find Shlitz in NC!!! I have told Ralph he may have to step up and drink my 2 on Saturday night!
On a positive note, JJ jas never one a race I have been at....let's hope the streak continues!
Only 89 points behind, let's hope that Tony can pull it off. We still have 6 more races so he's got a chance.
Unfortunately I'm thinking Denny is out of it again this year:(
Oh girl I hope so! I don't wanna see Jimmie win again in person and I'm hoping your our good luck charm;)
Only 5 days 3 hours and 21 minutes!!!!!!!
Nascar fans, when they show the in-car camera (roughly from the front passenger seat, if it was a passenger car) - what is the bar, along the driver's right temple, with a logo on it? My dad told me it is to protect the driver's head, but it looked to us like it was far enough away from the driver that his (helmeted) head could easily bounce against the bar. Is it to protect the driver? Is it closer to him than it looked on TV?
Thanks,
Elyse
the top part of the seat sticks out around the driver's helmet on both sides. His head can indeed hit this padded bar but it will keep it from going any further over. It is far enough away to allow the drivers to turn their heads a little bit. Their helmets are also tethered to their necks by a HANS (Head and Neck Support) device to keep them from going too far forward. Even when the car is flipping over the drivers are so strapped and surrounded by safety equipment that their torsos hardly move.

I have never heard a prayer like that one that was just given before the Nationwide race tonight. Oh my!
Thank you! I'll show this picture to dad. We couldn't tell that it's u-shaped. It just looked like a bar.
I'd like one of those in my car, but bring the front part down lower and please put a heater inside of it for my sore neck after a day of work at my un-ergonomic work station :)
I think Marty Smith agrees with me:
Quote:
I don't know how to describe it. It started out like most of the others and then he "got the spirit". It turned into something unbelievable. Imagine these following quotes with the vigor of a worked up preacher. "And now father god we lift up to you these asphalt warriors, these high octane gladiators who risk themselves for the thrill of the race. We pray that you would increase their talents and abilities and you would heighten their senses and awareness...we pray that you'll give them a race that we'll never forget. We pray god that we can have a 3-wide, door banging, drag race to the checkered flag today". Crowd is now worked up into cheers. "Father we believe that nothing but good things are going to come to pass as soon as these men hit the gas." It continued on that way getting more animated the entire time.
:)
So, I'd bet Stock Car Jesus cinched up his belts and *squezed* in
right benind the pace car?
Prollly *jumped* the Green, too!
:D
Maybe Gilliland's idiocy was triggered by the pre-race prayer?
Dear SCJ got a HUGE request for ya:
since I will be attending the NW race in Memphis next weekend, can you PLEASE keep that guy I don't like out of VL? And remind me to put fresh batteries in the camera this time so they don't go dead halfway thru...
AMEN
Hmm, I was kinda hoping for a St Vitus Dance during the invocation.:D
When you get your 15 minutes you have to use them all up.
Sometimes those minutes don't 'roll over'.;):D
Yeah that Nationwide pre-race prayer was something...we were looking at each other, just waiting for the people to say Amen...and they did!
Fun times at the track....I'll get pictures up when I get home (still travelling for work), but dang it was cold!! We did get to meet Joey Lagano and Junior Johnson. Just to bad in the end, Jimmie had to win :( At least Kyle won the Nationwide race.
I'll tell ya, Mark was so excited that he got to see Kyle win in the Nationwide and we were right up front to see it!
It was great getting to meet Joey Logano. He's so tall he had to bend over to get a picture with me...lol.
Amy, I think Mark broke your streak of not seeing Jimmie win:o Hope you'll still go to the track with us;) Have a good trip home tomorrow.
It was FREEZING Saturday night. I thought we were in NC not in Ohio! Never really want to do that again!
Finally got all my 500+ pictures uploaded in case any one is interested.

Dear Stock Car Jesus,
Thank you for keeping Rowdy from winning at Memphis, but damn, did you have to scare me like that? I mean I almost lost faith in you altogether there towards the end. I reckon Brad Keselowski is a new believer now, welcome to the fold, Brad! LOL
your race lovin' servant,
aTO2K
ps I remembered to put fresh batteries in the camera, but they went dead right at the end. Thanks for lettin' me get a few pics of the winner before the camera totally died. I'll thin out the 300 pics I took and put most of them online for my SCJ brethren and sisers to enjoy in a little while.
can I get an amen?
Did anyone see the Joe aGibbs invocation?
Now I tune in to see who and what does the opening ceremonies.
;)
