    dog books

I recently joined the library (I'm a little slow ), mainly because I wanted to start reading some old books and books about dogs. As it turns out, there were hundreds of books on dogs--I picked 3, but have yet to be able to make it through them yet--they're a little boring!!
I would like any recommendations on what to read--I'm looking for anything, really, but especially books about health, training, particular breeds (shiba inu), and just good dog stories.
Thanks in advance for any replies!!

I just recently reread "No Bad Dogs-The Woodhouse Way"
written by Barbara Woodhouse. The book is a couple of
decades old, so her training methods are quite out of date,
but she's just a hoot in a half. She's since died. She was
from England, but they showed her training show on PBS.
She was the "walkies" lady. She had quite a way with dogs,
but absolutely no patience with nimrod owners and was not shy
about telling them they were idiots either.

I also enjoyed "Tales from the Bark Side" by Brian Kilcommons.
It's a collection of stories based on their encounters with dogs
and owners over the years through their training and kenneling
    business.

Here is one of my favorite books:
The Dog's Mind by Bruce Fogle, D.V.M.

A training book, I thought was good:
Good Owners, Great Dogs by Brian Kilcommons and Sarah Wilson

I have a book of James Herriot's Dog Stories. I think he's a great author, so there's some great stories in there. I have TONS of dog books but well, I find them all (even the boring ones) fascinating lol. Ok so many of them I just like to look at the pictures!!

I like the "For Dummies" books...they are funny and very informative. I don't think they have a Shiba Inu one, but I have the "Dog Tricks" (there's also Dog Training) for Dummies and I love it!

In one of the books I am reading, they have that written in there--I believe it was a dalmation named Blumie, and what a great tribute he wrote to his dog--it made me cry.
