What am I supposed to do with this...

This handsome young guy wandered into my yard yesterday afternoon...completely unconcerned by the ruckus he was causing! No collar, no id and clearly no idea which direction home was in. I know most of the dogs in my subdivision, especially the ones who wander. I've never seen this guy before. I suspect he was wandering for a few hours before he got here. He was tired and hungry. Now he's busy playing with Tehya who will play bitey face with any breed apparently!

I've called Animal Control, the shelter and my vet. We put up posters where we get our mail; everyone out here has to stop there eventually. Someone must be looking for him...he's neutered, super sweet and in nice shape. If only they had put a collar and tag on him!

My first thought was he sure doesnt look like a stray to me. Looks like someone takes good care of him... minus the collar and tags obviously. He sure has a cute face!

He's lucky to have wondered into such a wonderful family's yard. At least he'll have a full belly until the owner shows up...

He is a beautiful boy and definitely well taken care of. I hope you find his owners. I would be frantic if I lost my sweet girl. I do not keep a collar on Casey when she is in the house. I only put it on when I take her outside to walk her or take her in the car. Keep us posted as to whether you find the owner. I would love to know how he got away.

He's gorgeous! Hope his home is found soon, but it sounds like Tehya is enjoying another friend to play with!

If he isn't a present from Pirate, maybe she kinda gently coaxed him in the right direction - Glacier's House - to have an eye kept on him and make sure he is safe until his family could get him back. He's so handsome!

That's kinda a DUMM question from YOU - Miz Rescue of the Yukon!
Ya hang onto him till you're sure nunbuddie wants him back,
then you pop a Collar and a Glacier's Kid Tag on him -
    and he's set for life!

Might wanna work on teaching him to hold those *floppy ears* up ...
then he might pass for a part-Husky.

Glad he passed the Tehya Test.

Buddy the lab has been reclaimed by his caregivers. He was thrilled to see them! I sent him home with a collar that hopefully they will put a tag on!

The guy had just called the shelter while his wife went to put up a poster at the mailboxes, so they both got my number within minutes of each other! Buddy isn't actually their dog. They are caring for him for several months while his actual owner undergoes cancer treatment in Vancouver. They were both dreading the thought of having to add to his burden by telling him they lost his dog! I suspect Buddy will be on a short leash now, literally and figuratively!

That's good to hear. I too hope they'll use the collar you sent home with him! You'd think they'd keep a better eye on him under those circumstances. I'd about die if someone lost one of my dogs. Without dealing with cancer... Geez.
Sure is lucky he found you!
