What a heartwarming story and a very lucky boy too. He sure is a handsome boy. My RB Pepper was also a very large black cat and I adopted him when he was 8-9weeks old. I counted back the weeks and I also decided to celebrate his b-day on St. Patrick's Day. He was my gentle giant and I still miss him. I also consider black cats to be good luck.

Oh wow what a cool thing Krazy, I can't imagine me not having a black cat, hugs for your loss, and with his b-day being on St. Patricks day and me finding him he is a total good luck figure

lol Medusa, he is too funny and he will antagonize the dogs when laying that way, til usually orion, the white dog, comes over to play with him, I can never seem to get it on video though, as everytime I turn it on they stop what they are doing, lol
