Yep, I've noticed the same thing...sad to think that folks might have to be doing just that, but they can feel confident that I love the coin dearly as it nestles in my table safely with old friends.

Richard, have you found a buffalo nickel yet? That would be neat.
All the pennies I get are nothing special, but I've found some pretty
old dimes.![]()

No, I do have some of the new Buff nickels!
Look for silver quarters! When you look at the milled edge, they are one color and, I think, older than 1963. The old dimes are silver too.
I have been looking for a mercury dime!
Pennies are pretty standard, you find all kinds of old ones there.
There are steel pennies from the war years, rationing and all that-I have seen one, but it wasn't mine.![]()
Gee, I have several "jars" of money that I never bother. I even have Mama"s old coin purse full of coins that I just take out and look at now and then. Maybe I need to look at the coins closer...![]()
Special Needs Pets just leave bigger imprints ♥ on your heart!
I just found two more pennies,
1956 and a 1945!
Keep your eyes peeled.....there are a few coins out there that are worth more than face value.
