We tend to think of pneumonia as nothing too serious these days, what with antibiotics and modern medicine and all, but a classmate of mine died of it at age 28.

I think he had another disease that contributed to his death, like pneumonia was the straw that broke the camels back. I think he had some disease where he had blood clots, and maybe his blood clot in his lungs, something of the sort, but I can't remember what it was for the life of me now.

I was out of touch this weekend and just heard this news this morning (as well as Isaac Hayes passing) and I knew Bernie Mac was sick with pneumonia, but I was shocked he passed away.![]()
