So Upset

Sometimes, I truly wonder IF this is all going to stop.

I'm soooo upset, I feel hopeless.

I just talked with 3 of my doctors and 2 of them are going to send me to an early grave. I don't want to go into it, I can't stop crying and that wont help me.

I just want to vent. I hate doctors...I wish ALL of them would be inflicted with the diseases they treat.

I know they aren't supermen/women, but common courtesy...compassion...SHOULD be something you have to have when you get that M.D.

Please don't worry, there's nothing MORE wrong with my health, its not like that. I'm just feeling extreemly unimportant. And now that I'm losing jobs and school time, it hurts even more when they could care less.

Why did God create me, give me this super fun disease, give me goals and aspirations and then give me crappy people that are supposed to "help" me? What lesson is this? I'm just so sick of these stupid lessons...go bother someone else for a change.

Sorry to be so negative...I'm just pissed off and upset. I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm so sorry. I've tried to find you a couple of good message boards. Most of them weren't too active. These two appear to be. They're not the same format as a regular forum but both appear to have a lot of activity. I hope you'll feel better soon. My SIL has it also. I hope I've gotten the right ones.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I've never had any major medical problems or experience with many doctors, so I can't say I know what you're feeling, but I sure wish you didn't have to. Certainly doctors should show more compassion to their patients. Making them feel unimportant won't help them heal any better.

I hope things get straightened out and you're able to be painfree.

Don't be sorry for being negative, you're not. You're a wonderful person and have every right to be pissed and upset. I wish I knew the answer to your problems, but I don't. Please do know I am here for you (and sincerely sorry I wasn't at my computer when you IM'ed me.) Please feel free to do so any time, but I'm not always at my PC.

Your tummy has been a problem for you but you sure have a heart of gold. Why do these things happen to nice people, its hard to understand. Just make sure you keep after the doctors and they do everything they can for you.

Perhaps when you get a job in the medical field, you can help doctors understand that patients are human beings, not just numbers.

I have dealt with Zero People Skill doctors myself. I had one doc (allegy doctor) call me and bruskly ask "Who are you? Do I know you?" in a really annoyed and rude voice. I had seen him for a "getting acquainted" appointment not two weeks before, as my old allergist was retiring. I explained this, gave a physical description of myself, and he begrodgingly acknowledged that, oh yes, I WAS now a patient of his. I had just called his office for a refill. Sheesh - good thing it wasn;t an emergency!

The plus side is, when I described that encounter to my regular doctor, she was appalled, and said "I can write those scrips for you, no problem." and I never had to see him again.

Kelly, I am sooo glad you are feeling better after your nap and some miracle ice cream. I hate that you feel so down. And I agree completely some doctors need to take a crash course in human compassion and understanding. I just hate having to deal with doctors like that. I remember when I was diagnosed with diabetes the diabetic specialist that was on that night was a moron. So rude and not a clue about dealing with people. I was a nervous wreck as I had not stayed overnight in a hospital since I was very little and he was an idiot to say the least. Luckily, I only had to see him that one night and my regular specialist was sooooo much nicer and was kind and understanding. I had enough in that one night. I can't begin to imagine how frustrating it has to be for you having to deal with idiots like that over an extended period of time. I'm glad at least one of your doctors is decent though. Remember sweetie you can alway vent, rant, rave, scream, cry or whatever you need to do with us and we will always be there for you. You are tooo sweet and kind a girl to have to put up with this but before too long you will be feeling much better and won't have to deal with jerks like that anymore. And hey when you get your PhD you will be the most compassionate understanding doctor there is. If nothing else going through this will make you all the better a doctor.

I'm sure that this is all going to make you that much of a better doctor. Think of all the hundreds and thousands of patients you'll help by being able to see things from their perspective. You'll help them understand and cope better since you will have compassion and show them that YES they will survive and someday be healthy and painfree!

Oh Kelly, I completely understand what annoyes you so much in some doctors... ! I will never forget an appointment I had last year. That doctor realized that my problem (I could hardly stand on my feet) was NOT his specialty, so he just raised his shoulders and sent me home without any advize or help.

HUG, I have had some crappy doc's as a kid. Also some with my son He has a bowel problem and one doc just looked at him (he was 7 )and said he's just lazy . He has no feeling that he needs to go. We were told by an other to just have a colostime done. Ben was ten only 10. still woking on it but a chropracter freind said as he grew it would get better and it has some . trying all kinds of things. Glad to hear Ice cream helped .
