Is this cage too small for a large male golden hamster?

I personally think it is but I'm not very knowledgable about hamster cages

If it IS too small how big should his cage be and what kind should it be?

It looks fine to me, especially since you have a second level so he isn't all crowded in the bottom

I would probably angle the ramp down just a little more though so he can climb on it easier
