Wet tail

I have had about four hamsters in my life. It has been 12 since the last as 2 out of the 4 died of a disease called wet tail. This pic of my favorite hamster called new York, he died of it.

Does anyone know of this disease?

Yes, I have heard of this disease, but I only knew it could happen in gerbils. Its so sad. Wet tail is an infection that causes dehydration and diarrhea. I know that it is common in gerbils, but it must be common in hamsters also.
