AWWWWW....a very happy "Rabbie Burrrns" day to both of you. Since I have some scottish blood in me I will celebrate along with you. 'aggis and neeps anyone?? I love it!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Beautiful Edwina and handsome Eddie! You two certainly know how to dress properly for an event! What magnificent hosts. I have the haggis here, a nice big one as I am sure you will be more interested in the meat than in the neeps and tatties.

Do you have Auntie Slick lined up to give us a few blasts on her bagpipes? How about the poetry readings? I seem to remember a few poetic kitties on PT from times gone by.

Funny Rabbit Bunny day to you, was it?

Thank you Eddie and Edwina for reminding us

Wow, the E's certainly know how to dress for every special occasion!

Happy Burns Night to all of you who celebrate it (I have bought my haggis, but it is in the freezer, for when my Mum and Dad come out in March!!)

Ally is practicing her best Scottish accent, so that she can entertain us all with her reading of " To a mouse".....

    Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie,
    O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
    Wi' bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
    Wi' murd'ring pattle!

    I'm truly sorry man's dominion,
    Has broken nature's social union,
    An' justifies that ill opinion,
    Which makes thee startle
At me, thy poor, earth-born companion,
    An' fellow-mortal!

    I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve;
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen icker in a thrave
    'S a sma' request;
I'll get a blessin wi' the lave,
    An' never miss't!

Thy wee bit housie, too, in ruin!
    It's silly wa's the win's are strewin!
An' naething, now, to big a new ane,
    O' foggage green!
    An' bleak December's winds ensuin,
    Baith snell an' keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an' waste,
    An' weary winter comin fast,
An' cozie here, beneath the blast,
    Thou thought to dwell-
Till crash! the cruel coulter past
    Out thro' thy cell.

That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble,
Has cost thee mony a weary nibble!
Now thou's turn'd out, for a' thy trouble,
    But house or hald,
To thole the winter's sleety dribble,
    An' cranreuch cauld!

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
    In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
    Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
    For promis'd joy!

Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me
    The present only toucheth thee:
But, Och! I backward cast my e'e.
    On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see,
    I guess an' fear!

Thanks Kay for my great sig & avatar!!!

Sara I think this is probably my favorite picture of Eddie. Great photography!

My last name (well actually hubby's last name) is Burns. My FIL said many years ago that *Bobbie Burns* is somewhere on the family tree, however haggis has never been served under this roof and never will! LOL! Hubby instead chose to celebrate with a glass of scotch.

Happy Burns Day Karen a day late!
