    Quick question (college degrees)

    I'm having a blonde moment and I'm not sure where to look anyway, what do these abbreviations stand for in relation to a college degree?

    AA
    AAS
    AS (I think this is associate?)
    BA (bachelor?)
    BS

    BS = Bachelor of Science
    BA = Bachelor of Arts
    BFA = Bachelor of Fine Arts (that's what I have)

    AA = Associate in Arts
    AS = Associate in Sciences
    AAS = Associate in Applied Sciences

    AAS = Associate in Applied Sciences

    I'm sorry, yes stupid question again, what does it mean by Applied Sciences? I'm looking at a degree that says AAS it's mostly art classes...with some general education.

    That one I don't know, maybe it requires some different programs.

    The BFA I have required a portfolio review. If you opted not to participate in the portfolio review, then you'd get "just" a BS. But there wasn't much point - every semestetr all your work was subject to review anyway, so the review at the end of the 4 years was pretty much a formality by that point.

    Applied Sciences are along the lines of vet tech, welding, automotive technology, etc.

    Would this http://www.uvsc.edu/catalog/2005-200...m?programid=72 degree "look" better than http://www.uvsc.edu/catalog/2005-200...?programid=195 the 2nd has more credits but it would work better for me, well, at least I think that at the moment lol but I'm worried it wouldn't look like as good of a degree or something? The thing is I have already pretty much completed all the gen ed required for the AAS and taking more art classes seems a lot better than taking more gen ed for the AS (I HATE english and math!! )
