Neutering...

What age do you think I should nueter Sammy, my cocker spaniel? He will be 5 months on the 14th.

Some rescues neuter/spay 6 week old pups. Molly is approx. 4 months right now but the pound director scheduled her spaying 2 months from now. No idea why. If it were up to me, I would have scheduled it ASAP.

5 months is a good age for a cocker pup to get neutered.

The sooner the better.

Nala was spayed around 8 weeks.
Simba was neutered around 4 months.
Kiara was spayed around 15 weeks.

I think there is nothing wrong if you had it done now. I don't believe it effects their health at all.
