    Unsolved mystery

I told you that I introduced a new cat into my family. Well, within 3 days my female (Jett) has accepted the male (Harry). Now Harry the mellow fun cat, is sick!! Vet says bloodwork is normal and he can't find anything wrong. He hasn not eaten for several days and won't drink water. He won't play, just sleeps. I am taking him back to the vet this morning but I am afraid he's going to have to go back to the humane society where he came from. Maybe he doesn't like us?? Or maybe he is really sick?? Any suggestions?
    Thanks...Jo

Maybe he's coming down with an upper respiratory infection. They sometimes get this after a change in surroundings, like people sometimes catch a cold.

Be patient, smokey is probably right. Give him a chance to acclimate (sp?) and hopefully the vet can tell you what might be wrong if its something serious.

You're gonna send him back to that place because he's not acting right??? Cats don't like change. I'm sure with enough love and patience, he'll come out of his shell. You think he's depressed now? Just wait till you take him back to the HS.

I have to agree with Moosmom!!! Let Harry take his time to get use to his new home!! And YOUR cat has accepted him in 3 days!!! That is terrific!!! Patience will pay off, please do not take Harry back to the shelter!!!

Well, I had switched over to Cat Health to continue this story. Harry was diagnosed with FIP a deadly mutation of the corona virus. He died the day after christmas. It was very heartbreaking because we fell in love with him so deeply, so quickly. I wish he had just been depressed. He has a tribute in cat memorial. I LOVED HIM. Jo..
