    freezing water

we keep all my rabbits in our barn. the babies and their mother stay in the tack room which is about 50 degrees, but the other rabbits stay in the barn. their water always freezes!! it makes it hard cuz then they dont get enough water. any idea how to keep their water from freezing??

I think if the water is freezing it might be too cold for your rabbits. You should look at moving them somewhere that is a bit more insulated.

the rabbits do fine. we will prolly move the other one's in the tack room once our new goat is ready to be moved with the other goats. (cuz the goat is in the tack room) then it will be much warmer. but until then, any ideas?

They have things, like at tractor supply, that go under water and warm it. Depending on what you have for water, maybe an aquarium heater would work just as well. Circulation/aeration helps as well.

I would just simply wrap an old cloth or towel around the water bottle. Providing that your rabbits don't nibble it, it will insulate the water inside it. The frozen water could also break the bottle so it's best to avoid freezing at all times.

Try a pinch or 2 of salt in the water. That'll prevent it from totally freezing up. That's what I do with Fluffy and Midnight's water.

You can find cheaper ones. But if water is freezing then I really believe its too cold for the rabbits to be outdoors. Try to better insulate the area.

I would rap insulation around the bottles, and then put a towel or something around it, that's what we do for the ducks water at the moment (until we find a heated bucket), and it works really well, the water never freezes, but makesure your bunnies dont eat it, they could get really sick if they do.
