Question about Splinter

My hedgie girl Splinter has been sneezing lately, and she has had discharge from her nose off and on all day. Could it be a mere cold and let it pass on its own, should I take her to a vet, or what should I do for her? I am so confused. I told my parents, and they told me to really watch her for any signs of illness.
What confuses me is her personality has not changed at all If she were sick, wouldn't she act less active?
