    Birdwatching pics

I've been having fun with the zoom on my camera and birdwatching. We get so many birds at our feeders. We have a total of 6 feeders and 2 birth baths (one on the deck, one farther out in the yard), so we get quite a lot of birds. Anyway, I thought I'd share some of my favorite pictures from the past few days.

    Mourning dove

    Finches and sparrows

This little guy was taking a bath.

We get plenty of squirrels visiting too of course.

Robin.. won't see these around here much longer with winter coming.

    House finches.

    Nuthatch (a bit blurry).

Junco, these are migrating IN for winter.

    More house finches

    A few more next post.

    Goldfinches

Chickadee, one of my favorite little birds.

It's so hard to catch them sitting still long enough to get a picture!

And finally, my favorites of the batch that I got of a northern flicker who has been visiting lately.

    That's all! Hope you enjoyed

So that's where all my birds went! They moved to your house!

I've had all the same types visit me. I feed them in the fall and winter but in late spring, the finches leave. I think it's because grackles move in and boot them out. Just when the goldfinches start getting their yellow color, they leave.

I have squirrels too, what with two walnut trees in the yard.

In the spring, I have a northern flicker that stops by. I was never sure until I saw your picture, that was what he was.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing them!!!

LOL, we stole your birds! . We get lots of grackles in the spring too, as well as some mallards that always hang out for awhile till summer. Unfortunately we also have hawks and falcons that hang out in our yard at times and hunt because we have so many birds at the feeders/waterers and nesting in the trees. I love seeing them but always feel so bad when they get one of the birds .

    Thanks for the compliments!

I have some red bellied woodpeckers too. I really like them. They are my most colorful birds.

    Wow-Beautiful pictures!

Are Chickadees the birds that say "Chickadee" when they chirp/sing? Very pretty bird

Those are amazing pictures! My favorite is the one of the bird taking a bath, I like how you can see the droplets of water from where he was splashing around.

Jessica, those pictures are so pretty!! I love to watch the birds in my yard too. I have feeders and birdbaths. I have alot of male and female cardinals, blue jays, mockingbirds(they're pretty territorial and so protective of their young), mourning doves, flickers, woodpeckers, and many others I can't identify. I also see quite a few of the larger birds out there in the back that just mystify me. Like osprey, an occasional eagle, falcons and hawks. Of course they don't use the feeders or bath. They're too big for that. It's so nice to see birds from other regions. Thanks for sharing. I also love Birds and Blooms magazine

Do you ever see those giant woodpeckers? They're really something to see

    I've been Boo'd...
    Thanks Barry!

    WOW Jess,
These are excellent. I wish we had that many birds around here. Not too many come around thanks to Nala.

Wow! Those are amazing. You must have one heck of a zoom lense. I really like this one.
