Well I'm sure some of you read my I got first place thread. And I said I'm a black belt R. Well the R. stands for Recommended. It is the belt beetween Red and Black. It is a considered a Black belt, but your not quite there. Since it is not a very popular belt, they put me with the full Black belt girls in the tournament.
This is what my belt looks like right now~
Red/Black Belt
"The dawn of a new day. The sun breaks through the darkness."
The previous day has ended, giving way to a new dawn. The student must begin a new phase of training; that of being a black belt.
The red is the sun (in a sunrise) as it breaks through the black of night.
In a week, on October 6th I am testing for my 1st degree FULL black belt. And I am very, VERY nervous. For testing I have to show them all 9 forms- one for each color belt (Forms are explained in my thread above). Also Spar (Also explained) and do two board breaks. My board breaks are-
1. Jump Front kick (Head level) and
2. A move called a back elbow.
They are easier said than done.
If I don't break them in THREE trys I fail, and lose $150, That is the fee you pay to test for your black belt.
I have watched MANY people test for their black belt. Some have passed, some have failed. It's very upsetting to watch someone fail.
SO I am asking my fellow PTers to think about me that day and hope and pray I do good
I might not be around as much this week because I will be getting ready for my testing. But if you have any questions about Taekwondo I will be glad to explain
Thanks to the people who took the time to read this!
PET TALK ROCKS!
I'll tell you all how it goes!
