Do your cats purr when they eat?

Just curious...I've always wondered how they do that. Belle purrs when she eats soft food and Katie sometimes purrs when she eats dry.

OK, I tried to detect any purring but all I could hear was crunching and chomping of their dry food. I also got some odd glances as they wondered why Meowmie was on the floor with them in the kitchen - I think they worried I might take some of their food! But, no purring that I could tell

Yeppers... Pouncer's my biggest purr-boy when he eats.

Debbie, to tell if they are purring, lightly put your hand on their shoulder blades - you'll feel a soft vibration.

My cats don't purr as they eat, but they purr like crazy as I
set their plates out & start to dish out the canned food.

LOL I have that picture in my head of you trying to tell if they are purring.

Twicket purred when he got canned food. First he yowled incessantly until his bowl was filled, then he purred while he chowed down....sigh, it's awfully quiet without his yowls in the mornings.

Binky will, if it's the right food and if I'm petting him, encouraging him to eat (he's a skinny guy).

Archy never does, just chomps away.
Loving meowmie to Archy & Binky (RIP my sweet boy 10/13/10)

My Danté wanted to eat with me or wanted me nearby while he ate. He was always purring when I was near so a purr while eating wasn't a change. He'd also purr when he jumped up on the bed at night looking for that perfect spot to snuggle up.

    Nope ~ No purr-ers here.
