    Oliver the terrible!!!

Oliver came to my house when he was a couple of months old, wild and covered with grease, tar, and fleas. He tamed down instantly as soon as I caught him and gave him some chicken( he was growling and purring at the same time) He's now a year old and is very affectionate and very attached to me! He gets along great with my 4 other cats, and my Lab(Buck), when they arent too close to me. If he's on my lap or even just close by, and one of them, especially Buck, crosses his "mommy space" he makes a high piched whinny cry and runs up to them and bats them with just his paws but keeps his claws inside. Then he rip tears around the house and simulates an attack on anyone in his path, and then comes back to me as sweet as ever. Everyone(pets and people) just take a step back, and puts up with this behavior until he settles down, thank goodness, but I really feel sorry for them. He's also afraid to go outside by himself or any loud noises. He not territorial with anything else but me, and uses the litter faithfully, and waits patiently for the food bowl if someone else is eating(I keep it full 24/7 with 5 cats)
Is there anything that can be done to stop these attacks? He doesnt ever hurt anyone physically, just their feelings!
Here's a picture of my little devil himself!

It sounds like Oliver is just having RCOs (Random Cat Outbursts). A lot of mine have them; just stand back and watch the show! Too soon he'll outgrow this and turn into a couch potato.

Smokey's right - he's just having little cuckoo kitty fits - they calm down over time, although my two still do this occasionally.

Oliver the terrible just looks so so terribly sweet. Now he is just trying to tell you he is a little jewel.

Mine has very similar outbursts even though he is an only cat and 12 years old! I'd say it's just normal cat behaviour, other cats that I've had over the years have done the same thing.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I imagine oliver's behavior stems back to his horrible start in life from being abandoned. He cried at my window for 9 nights in a row until I finally coaxed him out from under a shed by meowing like a small kitten. I can only wonder what my neighbors were thinking,LOL! He's so loved now, and I'm sure he's just making sure it stays that way!

    Thank you again
