Sorry for the confusion MY FAULT !!!!

I'm so sry for my caused confusion ! That was entirley my fault, and I apologize for the switch of breeds .My conclusion is I want a * Doxie * daschund ( ooooo gosh i dont know if I spelled that right , plz correct me if I am wrong !!! ). And I would greatly appreciate opinons on names for my future baby , and advice. Or troubles I may face and how I might handle them . Thankyou so much and I'm really sorry for the confusion !!!!

Dachshunds are known for having issues with their back bones. if not caught in time,, they can become paralyzed. thats the only thing scary that i can think of about owning a Doxie. great breed otherwise though.

Doxies bark. And I mean bark and bark and bark. They are a full hound with the exeption of dwarfed legs which doesn't effect the hound bark or selective deafness. The bigger health concerns are largely due to the fact the they are quick to become obese. Other than that they are very nice dogs. We have dachshund day at our dog park on the third Saturday of each month. I suggest you find a breeder or rescue that will allow you to spend time with their doxies and decide if they are right for you.

Great dogs! Have two, but boy do they like the sound of their own voice. They generally tend to be fearless.

Can be good couch potatoes, but like to go places and see people.

I have one mini doxie and I do love him, such a sweetie but he does not like the little kids, remember a doxie is a small dog also so be careful of little kids around it.

Remember to socialise him very well --- Doxies can be intolerant of children and become nippers if they aren't socialised properly. Most of the doxies I've met have been very timid or aggressive because of bad breeding and ownership. Remember that they are hounds, and hounds are stubborn as heck and will generally run away and not come back to you when they are in an open area. Doxies are fairly easy to catch, but you still have to keep a close eye because one might run into traffic. Hounds also usually have a high prey drive, so you have to socialise the dog with small animals or keep him away from them altogether. Also watch out for holes in the ground. A doxie might be inclined to go inside of it and might get stuck. And if you are getting one from a breeder, you have to get one from a reputable breeder or you may have problems up to your ears. Doxies are very prone to several health problems. That's all I can think of now.
