Little Orphan Annie WENT back to the Dr. today...

Little 555555555555Orphan9Annie goes back to the Dr. today...

I didn't want to include "Orphan" in her name, because as far as we're concerned, she's in her furever home and no longer an orphan!

OOPs! SHE did that! She walked on my keyboard and must have stepped on the key to submit the post before it was ready to send!

ANYWAY, she has an appointment this afternoon to go get her left eye checked again. The little stinker has gotten REALLY GOOD at spitting out her Amoxi whenever I give it to her, and she has also started rubbing the left eye to try to get the ointment out whenever I put it in! She does NOT like medicine, no way no how, and she's not going to take it if there's any way she can avoid it!

She still wants her bottle when it's time to eat, and does NOT like it when I put the canned food in a bowl in front of her. She LOVES it in her bottle, mixed with her formula, though. And she is getting to the point where she HATES being in her carrier when she's awake. She wants to get out and explore, and explore, and explore some more!

She's walking around all over my computer desk (and keyboard) currently, because at least I know where she's at and that Shadow isn't harrassing her while they're both loose in the house right now. She's content with exploring the desk top (for now). She keeps attacking the paper items, and the pens, and the speakers, and the cords that she can reach (I'm going to have to do something about them).

She is just SO entertaining! HOW am I ever going to get any work done on my computer, like balancing my bank account, when SHE'S rolling around on my desk, or attacking the papers, etc.! I guess the bills are just going to have to wait for now.......

For anyone who DOESN'T already know Little Orphan Annie's story, check this out:

    http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthre...threadid=78209

Today marks THREE weeks since the Humane Society was going to have her PTS! There's NO WAY that we're going to take her back to them, even though she is still legally theirs, and is only our "foster" kitten as of right now. We are wondering if her left eye would also cause some problems in adopting her out to anyone else. But it isn't something we're too worried about, because we're going to adopt her, legally and officially, in the not too distant future!

Little Orphan Annie weighs 1 POUND 2 OUNCES today! Her eye is "just going to take time" and isn't any worse. She has to go back in three weeks for a recheck. In the meantime we're supposed to TRY getting her to finish up her Amoxi, and keep using the eye ointment twice a day.

SHADOW weighed in at 3.4 pounds today! He got a blood test for Feline Leukemia Virus, which was NEGATIVE. He got his 2nd full dose of FVRCP vaccine, and also his first Feline Leukemia Virus vaccination. He was NOT a very happy little boy when he got his blood drawn---poor little guy!

I am going to take another roll of film in tomorrow to be developed, so probably won't get it back until Friday. It has pictures of our little "foster" duckling that we had overnight about a week ago, in addition to more pictures of Angel, Shadow, and Annie.

I'm so glad to hear that Little Annie's eye isn't any worse. That's a good sign, right!

Now for the lecture. Little Annie, don't make me have to come down there and give you all kinds of hugs & kisses, OOOOPPPSSS, I mean a widdle thump on the butt to get you to take your medication. Now you be a good girl from now on and take ALL your medicine. We want you back to 100% sweet thing.

Shadow, congratulations on the good report on your tests. I know how icky those nasty needles can make you. So you go and have a nice rest and stay quiet. Later you can attack Little Annie, okay.

Oh, I can't wait to see more pictures of these two cutie patooties.

    Thanks for the updates.

Annie goes back to the doctor

This is such good news! "Our" little Annie is doing so well, gaining weight and wanting to explore & play. Just one thing there,Sweet little Annie, you keep taking that medicine doctor gave you. Maybe it tastes all icky but it's helping you get better. You have stolen the hearts of many of us on PT and we've been following your progress right from the start. Listen to meowmie and pawpie and take your medicine like the good girl we all know you are.

Shadow is getting to be quite a big boy! I know all that official doctor stuff can be a bit much, Shadow, just remember that doctor is your friend and wants to make sure you grow up to be healthy and strong.

    Looking forward to the pictures,Meowmie!

So glad to hear they are both doing well. Now all we need are pictures - lots and lots of pictures -

This is great news about Shadow and also about Annie. Lil stinker with medicine though, eh? Do you try scruffing and dangling then a quick squirt? I would then dangle until she swallows. You are proabably already doing this though. It worked like a charm with Robbie and Lizzie. I would fill the syrigne and have it by the sink all ready, then grab, dangle, squirt

Hope that little eyes gets better real soon.

    Oh yes, pictures are overdue
