    Three words or a touch.

    Sadly,
Another one of our PT family has suffered a loss.

    Again, it's one too many.

    ---------------------------------------------

    But as the saying goes,
Are you arms long enough to box with god?

One thing that has crept into my vocabulary lately are the words,
    "I LOVE YOU"

It happened by accident. I was caught off guard by two long term friends and it has seemed to snowball lately.

Before they would hang up the phone, they would slip those three words in...

Kinda strange to a six foot, two inch guy that's been brought up to be a tough guy.....I'm just a Great Dane that goes WOOF WOOF, But hey, I love a good belly scratch too!

    ---------------------------------------------

It also takes the shape of two letters...

    X and O.....

Now, I know that they mean kisses and hugs.

And they show up at the end of many emails that I have received in the last year or so.

    ----------------------------------------------
The last is a touch, a hug or just a slap on the arm.

I try not to leave any friend without a hug, touch or kiss on the cheek.

You may be surprised at this, as morbid as it sounds.......

If, at some time, you miss the chance to communicate with someone you love for the last time, you will remember it more vividly that any memory for the rest of your life.

    ------------------------------------------------

I remember the last kiss on my dad's forehead....
His skin was soft and wrinkly.

The last kiss with my girfriend was on the lips.

She was upset that they were chapped and dry..

She made such a big deal out of it...

Those are two kisses that I cherish and remember.

    -------------------------------------------------

    My advice?

Pucker up, grab them....Tell them you love them.
Take a deep breath of their perfume, the soap they use.
Look at what they are wearing, remember the last words they say to you.....

Don' t take anything for granted.

Pay attention to your loved ones.

At first they will look at you like you are crazy....but as time goes on.......You are crazy.....for not following my advice.

    Richard,

You are completely right. Unfortunately, it takes something like a death to make us realized we need to be thankful for every precious moment we do have.

Hug your friends and family, guys. Tell each other how you feel...

I love you all! You're all so wonderful to me, to PT, to your friends, family and our precious fur/scaley/feathered family.

    Hugs and love,
    Kelly

    RICHARD,

Boy are you right!! My daughter gets annoyed with me when I tell her I love her everytime we're finished talking on the phone.

One time she asked me WHY I say it so much. I told her that I never got the chance to tell my mother or father I loved them before they died (although I'm sure they knew I did) and I didn't want to miss out on the chance to say it to her. It became second nature to me. I had been dating a guy for about 3 months and was talking to him on the phone. Just before we hung up, strictly out of habit, I told him I loved him. BIG MISTAKE!! I knew the minute I said it and by the hesitation in his voice, it was the beginning of the end for THAT relationship.

    Hey, I don't care. It's HIS loss!!

Rest In Peace Casey (Bubba Dude) Your paw print will remain on my heart forever. 12/02
Mollie Rose, you were there for me through good times and in bad, from the beginning.Your passing will leave a hole in my heart. We will be together "One Fine Day". 1994-2009
MooShoo, you left me too soon.I wasn't ready.Know that you were my soulmate and have left me broken hearted.I loved you like no other. 1999 - 2010See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"

And even then it seems we get so busy that the lesson we learn fades after only a short time.
