photos of Bruno, my RB dachshund

Hey, everyone. I'm in the process of scanning all of the photos my mother has here in South Carolina, and, I wanted to share the photos of my pets. No one has to reply, I'm mostly doing it for myself. And, in memory of Bruno, I wanted to post his. These are basically in chronological order, but, I can't remember the years in some of them. EDITED to say that Bruno wasn't full bred, he was mixed with a cocker spaniel.

    These were in Germany.

Bruno was about two years old here, chewing on his favorite squeaky.

Never mind my hair, I had just finished my freshman year. Bruno is about 3 here.

EDITED to include this photo! A smooch.

Same time, he's about 3 years. We were in Munich.

And, good grief, don't mind me in this one. I had just started my sophomore year, here. Look at my pant legs! YIKES! We used to call that "pegging" our pants. Bruno's about 3 1/2 there.

Sitting at the foot of my bed, still in Munich.

More coming. Again, I'm posting this for me, more than trying to get replies. It's therapeutic!

Still Munich, maybe about four here.

The back of this photo says January of 1992, so, he's about four.

Skip ahead, this is around 1995 I think. We were in Washington.

This is on one of our many road trips. I think this is going from Washington to Virginia. I love the second of these two, he looks like he's an angel smiling down on me. After he passed away, looking at this picture was sortof "my sign" that he was ok.

These were taken in Illinois. I think this was in November of 1997. This is my Aunt and Uncle's backyard. We stopped here for Thanksgiving before heading to Virginia and D.C.

And, this is also one of my favorites. He was running down the beach at Virginia Beach. This was probably summer of 1998. That's my ex husband and his niece in the background. I have some other really cute pictures of Bruno's pawprints in the sand, too, but, they're in my personal collection, and, are back in Texas. This one made me cry after he passed away, it's like he is running towards me at the Rainbow Bridge.

Now, I'm going to post these "healing" photos of Bruno. He was attacked by a pit bull in August of 1998, and, I will post those in a separate thread, because they are graphic. He made it, of course, and, this first one is from September, but, you can't see the wounds or anything, so, I'm posting this one here.

You can see where her bottom tooth got him on his left side. It's his right side (hidden in this photo) that is ugly. This was September 13.

And, he's almost totally healed here. This was September 16. It took awhile for all of his hair to grow back.

This was taken in Lewisville, Texas, the following year. This was my 23rd birthday. Bruno was 11.

I love these of him outside. These were also in Lewisville, in March of 2000.

And, that's all for now. I am going to post the photos of when he was hurt. It's just amazing to me that he made it through that, and, healed so quickly! Animals are wonderful, aren't they?

If you looked through these, I thank you. He was my best friend for a long time, and, will never be replaced. RIP Bruno.

Thanks for sharing Bruno with us. I think you are so lucky that you have so many pictures of him. I don't have many of my RB Chloe and I really regret that.

RIP sweet Bruno. We are thinking of you.

Aww, do you have any of Chloe that you could post in here? I have a ton more in Texas, these were just the ones my mother had here. I've always had my camera stuck to my face. And, my pets have always been my favorite subjects.

What a little sweetheart Bruno was. It's easy to see why he meant so much to you. We think it's so very special that you pay him tribute in such a lovely way. No doubt that Bruno sent you handsome Mr. Finn to put smiles on your face. Play hard at the bridge sweet little Bruno. Love his big name too because we know, in his heart, he actually thought he was a very very big boy!!

I know, I absolutely adore that photo. He only has one paw on the ground, he was flying! He caught up to me right after I snapped the photo. For such short little legs, he could move!

Oh, man, you are so right! He did think he was a big ol' Bruno. He was a year old when he was given to me and thus was already named. I probably wouldn't have named him that, but, it fit. And, what was funny, when we moved to Munich, our downstairs neighbor had a wirehaired dachshund named Bruno! Two little BIG Brunos! Their Bruno was a mean little thing, though. Ha ha, I don't think I ever petted him.
