Get this lampshade off of me!

The vet said Tuna's looking good, though the area around his staples looked a little red as if maybe he had been licking the area (never caught him in the act, though). So now I've lathered up his tummy with some neosporon and he's stuck with his favorite post-surgery apparel-the elizabethan collar.

Though he initially threw a fit, he's now getting back to his everyday activities:

Trying to scratch his ear (notice the pudge)

Making himself comfortable on my lap while I'm trying to type up my term paper... Somebody thinks he's more important than my grades!

Glad to see Tuna's surgery was successful and that he's on the mend. Be patient little one, that lamp shade will be off you before you know it!

    Look how sweet he is!

The redness around the incision is often caused by a reaction to the internal stitches. Keep an eye on it. Use some peroxide (or the neosporin) and a warm, wet compress if necessary. but it should be fine.

That "lampshade" seems effective - bolted together? Some kitties can get out of them, but not this one. We were lucky, we didn't have to see Fister wis on till after 5 days.

A good idea is to clip his nails, so he won't scratch himselves too much - if you can.

I'm glad the surgery went well and hope he'll be happy and healthy soon!

Awww.....look at that poor boy! That really is quite the "industrial type" collar though!

Trust me, when Tuna is old and it's getting close to time when you have to make the dreaded "decision," you will cherish those times when he just had to be on your lap, and once he's gone you will miss those times soooo much - term paper or no term paper. Tubby was the same way and I would give anything right now to have my homework interrupted by a black furball that just had to have attention right now!

Glad to hear Tuna is recovery well.

Glad to see Tuna doing so well! I would love it if my kitties decided to jump up into my lap while I work on the computer. Most of the time though, they just like to scratch at the chair

Don't worry big guy, the ol nasty lampshade will be off quicker than you think!!

I sure hope that Tuna makes a quick recovery and gets used to his lampshade. He's so adorable.
