The Contrasting Pair

My dog and me,
We’re quite the pair
I chase the ball, she sits and stares.

She chases cats,
Whilst I desire,
To watch a cat snooze by the fire.

My dog and me,
We’re quite the pair,
She rolls in dirt, I brush her hair.

She splashes mud
Onto the rug,
And brings in mauled and gnawed-on slugs.

My dog and me,
We’re quite the pair,
Because you see,
For her I care,
And she would give the world for me.
