Family Offers Reward For Dog Stolen From Garage Sale

HOUSTON -- A southwest Houston family's garage sale turned into a nightmare after, they said, a customer stole their dog, Local 2 reported Monday

Couple Thinks Man Admiring Golden Retriever Lured Dog Away

Charles and Jane Caldwell's golden retriever, Sassy, has been missing for more than a week after disappearing from the family's home in the 1200 block of Trace Drive.

The Caldwells told Local 2 they think a man who stopped by the sale lured the dog away. They said the man paid a lot of attention to Sassy and kept telling them how much he wanted a dog just like her.

"It probably was an impulse and people that are that selfish obviously don't consider anybody else's thoughts or cares. All he cared about was he wanted the dog and took it," Charles Caldwell said.

The couple is offering a $1,000 reward for Sassy's return and also said they would not press any charges.

Anyone with information about Sassy's location can call (281) 558-0485 or (713) 408-2593. The Caldwells can also be reached at [email protected].

Such a horrible thing to do to that poor family.

Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our life whole

This is an older couple it happened to. Young or old, it's just awful. I hope they find their dog.
