Back in business

My laptop is back in business. They had to replace the LCD completely. Luckily the repairman was a cat lover. He quite enjoyed hearing about how Halo destroyed it. Link to Computer Free

The computer was still under warranty, so I didn't have to cough up another $430 for the repair. I do have a little problem so I'll go back to the store today. They made a complete backup of the computer and put it on a hard drive. But, they didn't restore any of my files. So, now I have this hard drive thingy with all my data and no way to access it. There must be some sort of cord or gizmo that I can use to connect it to my computer and copy it all back on to my computer. I still don't understand why they didn't restore the files. What do you want to bet that for $430, they'll restore it?

Got lots of catching up to do. Are K&L home? Did they have a great trip? How about MULTICATMOM? What happened to Sheba *POOF* Puddypaws? Was Jan able to rescue the other kitty? How is Allen's chin? What's up with Kahlua? How is Gary doing with Scrappy2? Did Jen have any more adoptions? New fosters? Kittens born? Is Laura home from the Mighty Mississippi? How are Kim's daughters (and kitties, of course)? Is Lizzie continuing to warm up? How much longer until the new Sirrah baby? Did the new Japanese dishwasher get installed? How are the job searches going for everyone? SEEEE how much I've got to get caught up on? Guess I'd better get started.... It's good to be back.

HOW did Halo destroy your laptop??? OOPs! I see the link so will go read about it. So glad it was under warranty but I imagine you have suffered PT withdrawal!!! You will have fun catching up.

Surely those files CAN be restored from the other H/D - hubby does this as a hobby and he transfers backed up files with a cable thingy.

Yep! I am back from the Mighty Mississippi! Glad you are back online again! Isn't it awful to be without a computer!! YIKES!! My laptop might be old but it is there when/if this big one goes wacky on me!

Welcome back... MCM is back too, Kim posted a LOT of great pictures of her crew, just yesterday so you won't have to look far. K&L are back and just now posting their pictures... They got picture PETTING MAGOO!!! WAAAAAAAAAAA! I wanna pet him too!!

Lisa, suspect you're having DTs from lack of 'puter! NAWTY Halo...or was it that duck? Sheba *POOF* Paddypaws went to a new home last Mon. night and the woman named her gag "Summer Rain"! Oh well. The woman loves her first ever cat. I've been creeping around looking for the orange one, but haven't seen him. Poor thing's probably stuck by mats to a fence somewhere, but I'm still on the stakeout. It amazes me that no calls were made to the vets office to place a 'lost ad', or newspapers for that matter. I get the distinct impression...they just don't care. It sure showed. Glad your 'puter's up and running again.
