    Squiggly squirmy wormies! Ick!

Last night I was giving Kahlua a thorough brushing because she sheds like crazy and found a couple of "rice" pieces in her tail. Uh-oh!

I was just wondering if an over the counter dewormer would be alright, or will it be necessary to plunk down $30 for a poop test to tell me what I know and a drontal fragment.

I personally would never use an over the counter wormer. But that is me. When I find the tape worm segments I just phone my vet and pick up the meds. I don't need to take in a sample for flotation but she knows that I know what a tape segment looks like.

Sounds like a trip to the vet for Drontal is in order. Good luck!

Ah well. If the vet'll let me have a bit of that miracle dewormer without a poop test, then this trip'll be alright. I'll drop in after work and ask. Hopefully this won't go like it did with Zelda and Mowgli. Poop test, 1 dose of drontal Drontal, stinky poo pancakes, another poop test, a week's worth of flagyl.

I wouldn't use over the counter stuff. I'd be afraid of overdosing. My older neighbor had some over the counter stuff to give to the stray she feeds and I told her it would be a lot easier to pay the ten bucks to bring them to the county vet.
