We went to the Bristol race yesterday! We had a great day, but it was also a long day...lol. We left at 4am Sunday morning and arrived home at 1 am that night or I guess I should say Monday morning. It took about six hours to get to the race track and then we watched the race and spent six hours coming back home. Boy, I sure do feel tired today and my poor hubby had to leave for work at 6:15 this morning. I know he has got to be wiped out. My son and his girlfriend went with us and we had lots of laughs. It was a great family day. The crowd was amazing. I just can't get over all the people. A couple of times being packed in with all those people I thought I was going to panic...lol...but I survived! The time I felt the most giddy and childlike was when I saw the drivers start coming out and were just walking around and talking before they got in the trucks that drive them around when they are introduced. I was so excited to see them! I wanted to walk over so bad and just start talking to them...lol. This was my 3rd nascar race and my 2nd time at Bristol. I love it there!!! You can see EVERYTHING! Short tracks are definitely my favorite. I like all the drivers and my husband has turned me into a Roush team fan. We watched Mark Martin struggle so much in the beginning and then he was working so hard and kicking butt and finally made it into the top 10 when BANG, a big crash took him out. What a bummer! I have to tell you that after your driver crashes it is very disappointing...lol. So of course I turned to the other Roush drivers. Carl Edwards (I'm turning into a big fan!) crashed pretty early on, Kurt Busch was moving along pretty well when BANG he got involved in a crash and wound up hitting head on into Jeff Burton. I was rooting for Greg Biffle and he seemed to have a shot at the win but they made a bad pit stop decision that really cost them. I have to admit that I wasn't thrilled to see Harvick win. I don't know why though...lol. Brandon pointed out that both time we have went to Bristol that the Goodwrench car has won. Of course the first time Earnhardt was driving it and bumped Terry Labonte out of the way to take the checkered flag. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again at the night race! We will be at that one with Anna and Mark! I took pictures and I'll post some but after awhile all the pics look the same. A car on a track...lol.
The walk there. We walked forever! It wasn't so bad on the way to the track but going back to the car was the worse!!! I didn't think we were ever going to get there.

The mud pit! This is just a part of it. It had rained alot the day before and people were stuck and trying so hard to get out. The crowd had a blast standing on the road and watching the site and cheering people on...lol.
