    Tribute to Porch...

We're here in Kentucky but received bad news about Porch. We had to have him put down since his bowel problems reached the point where his quality of life was severely degraded. Luckily he was already being boarded at the vet's office. They were familiar with his condition and took good care of him in the end. We missed being with him but know he was in good hands.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

Very sad news to have during your trip, but think of it this way....Porch probably did NOT want you to have to suffer seeing him die, so he waited until you were safely out of state to ask to pass to the bridge.

RIP Porch, you are now healthy and happy and playing at the bridge.

Thanks Jen. This isn't an easy thing to deal with when we're away, but at least he wasn't suffering.

RIP Porch. Did he have mega-colon? Or a similar bowel problem? I'm so sorry to hear he left you for the Bridge, but he's not in any pain anymore.

My condolances to you Lisa. Porch is pain-free now the running freely at the RB. Enjoy your time there Porch and watch for OK and Casper.
