    Thanks Zippy **hugs**
Wouldn't this be an amazing site?? I know I'll be out there with a candle at 7pm (California time??), even if I have to carry a candle and lighter with me all day to be sure I'm ready when the clocks hits 7! Come on everyone! Let's join in and unite!!! God bless you all

It says 7 eastern Standard time, so I guess that'd be 4 Califonia time. I have several "hurricane lamps" that my great aunt had - now I know why I kept them. It's a cold rainy day today, but my candle won't be blown out - it'll be in that map! If you're in a windy area and don't have hand-me down hurricane lamps, you could set your candle inside a taller glass, or some other container to shield it.

At 7:00 EST my husband, mother, Graham, Ritz, Cassie and me will be out on my balcony with candles. We will bow our heads and read the following prayer which was sent to me in email:

    Special Prayer for America

We pray for God's presence of comfort to be with all victims and
families involved in our common tragedy of the World Trade Center attack
and the Pentagon attack. We pray for those souls on-board the four
flights that were hijacked. We pray for an immediate Divine intervention
of strength to come to all those involved including the heroic police,
    fire fighters and medical personnel.

We know that these people that have lost their lives in body, continue
to live in their soul and are finding comfort and peace in God's house
of eternal life. We pray that this is a wake-up call for the
intelligence of humanity. May we grow-up and mature in our need to harm
and hurt each other and seek lasting peace and goodwill towards each
    other.

Peace now begins within each one of us as individuals. May each person,
the world over, have the anointing of God and be given the innate desire
to come together as one people in harmony with each other. May we tear
down our human need for division and separateness, replacing these
defensive fearful positions of the human race with a love for our common
    human.

The resolve of our nation, is a nation under God, and in God we trust.
We, the people, will come together as never before in faith and in our
belief in the ultimate goodness of God. We pray for God's protection to
surround all Americans everywhere. We pray for God's protection to
surround those still alive and trapped within the buildings. We pray
that the mind of God thinks within the minds of the rescue workers
guiding them to the place of life. We pray that God's healing comes
swiftly to all those that are receiving medical aid. We pray for the
doctors and nurses and the health-care professionals for their strength
and for their ability to be beyond their human ability and energy to
heal those that come to be in their care. We pray for our leaders and
the intelligence community to be guided to find the source of these
attacks and for justice to be served. Justice, not out of our need as
Americans to retaliate, but to protect those from the few that would
    seek to destroy.

May this be used as an opportunity for humanity the world over to join
hands, minds and hearts in prayer and may a new race of humans be born
founded upon the love of our common Father.

    In Jesus Christ's name.... Amen

    Light a candle for hope
    Light a candle in memory
    Light a candle in prayer
    Light a candle to show
    That freedom's beacon
    Freedom's light
    Will never be extinguished.

But be careful, as always, with fire. Cinder and Smokey don't want their Dad to be extra busy because of this gesture!

We had the wind problems here, but Helen and I used a garden lantern and our candle burned brightly.

I'm so glad so many folks participated.

Driving through town at 7 last night was so touching. People, young and old, all outside their houses with candles. It was beautiful. America has really pulled together and united.

I lit a candle in the Name of my furkids, Dixie and Dusty. They wish their Aunt Jazz safety in searching for victims in the rubble of NY.
