'Dog' was costumed reveller
A Swiss motorist who stopped after hitting a dog found he had actually hit a man dressed in a dog costume.
The 35-year-old driver told police he thought he had hit a real dog.
But when he stopped he discovered it was a drunk stag party reveller wearing a dog costume.
The 25-year-old man was dragged 120ft down the road but was not seriously injured because he was protected by the padding of the costume.
Policeman Bruno Gaberthueel said: "Thanks to his thick dog costume he received only superficial wounds."
Police believe the man, who had been drinking with friends at a stag party in the Swiss town of Wauwil in Lucerne, had laid down in the middle of the road as he made his way home.
A blood-alcohol test revealed the driver of the car had not been drinking
