Thread: Long-Tailed Jack Russells!

  1. Long-Tailed Jack Russells!

What does everybody think about Long-tailed JackRussell
I personally think they look beautiful with their tails docked ur un-docked although I have only seen 1 without its tail docked...MINE! LOL!

I'm not sure how to post pictures onto this message and not attached as well! But I have attached 2 pictures of my baby!

    What do you think!

Snowy is also undocked eventhough she comes from a hunting kennel. Docking is now illegal in several countries including UK so we will see more and more undocked jack russells. Personally I don't think jack russells should be docked anyway because they look fine (not awkward) with their tail and even Parson John Russell himself never docked any of his terriers and they were the best hunting dogs at their time.

  3. I never knew that, I thought that you could still do that...lol! It kind of looks like Snowy's tail is partially docked!

I don't know if it is illegal or not in Canada but it is in the UK although some people still practise it. Snowy has a full tail, not docked at all.

its not illigal in canada, although many clinics refuse to do it. I personally prefere undocked, I have a full tailed Jack Russle.

  7. Also...its easier for then to chase their tails! All I have to say to Lexi is "WHERE'S YOUR TAIL!" and she'll start chasing it! Its really quite funny and she goes really fast. I have a webcam and I will post the video for you guys!

  8. Oops...posted it too many times! How do you post a video anyways!

    bumping this up to clarify

docking is not illegal in the UK if done by a vet although many vets refuse to do it if it's only for cosmetic reason.

I've seen lots of jack russells with tails a lot longer than Snowy's I am starting to wonder if hers was docked

I've rescued a couple long tail JR before, they are very cute, but towards their history, I think they should be docked.

  11. Whoa, LOL! I haven't seen this thread FOREVER! LOL, I still do like them undocked, but with docking, they are still adorable!

Yeah William, I thought Snowy's tail had a little stub to it, but I'm not sure. Its looks a lot smaller then Lexi's. If you get a picture of her stacking, I can get one of Lexi and compare....

Polly, the Jack at my barn, has her tail docked and she's just a pet, no working or showing. I prefer full tails in this particular breed. I have grown quite fond of shorties (my fav nickname for them because they look like Parsons with really super short legs.) since I have been here to see all those great Lexi picks and since Lexie bought Polly. I have never seen a full body Perky pic before, I love her!
