What is your opinion of Rottweilers with Tails?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about the Rott with a tail. My baby has her tail and I think it is adorable but a little hard to get used to.

BTW, I am new. I live in Wisconsin with my boyfriend and our 2 dogs. Recon is a springer spaniel black lab mix and he is 11 months old. Peyton is a purebred german rottie who is 3 months old. They are like my kids to me.

can some one tell me how to attatch pics of my doggies to my signature??

I love Rotts with or without their tails I have a Rott with a docked tail but that wasn't my choice. Welcome to PT by the way!

As for Rottweillers having tails, makes no difference to me, I think they are beautiful either way.

Needless to say I love rotties, with our without the tail...they are gorgeous (and so are your sweeties-looked at them on the Dogster link you provided)! I'm looking forward to seeing more of the both of them.

Hope you don't mind me saying, but I read about your dog Duke and I'm sorry to hear that you had to have him put down. We also had our rottie of almost 13 years put down in September of this year so I understand your pain.

I do not mind that you read about Duke. Its there for others to read. I try to update the diaries of my other 2 dogs regularly so check back often. I will more than likely become a regular here since my dogs are my life. I also have a horse. A 7 year old mare. I will post some pics of her along with the rest of my clan when I can. thank you for such a warm welcome. I appreciate it.

I've only really seen one purebred Rottie with a tail and man they have big thick tails. It was weird to see, but I don't think I would have a problem with seeing more Rotties with tials. There's really no point in docking them anymore anyway. My Rottie mix had a home job done on his tail at 3 months old before I found him and it was a longer nub so I had something to grab. We would play "got your nub". I would grab his nub and he would turn around and grab my hand. He was the biggest goof ball. Enjoy your new little un-nubbed one.

i have no opinion about cropping/docking. personally i like the cropped look. but docking, i dont care about.

ear cropping and tail docking are now both illegal in the UK (although some people still do docking). I have to say that a rottweiler with a tail will look strange to me purely because I'm not used to seeing one with a tail. I come from a country where boxers have cropped ears so when I first got to the UK boxers look strange to me with their naturals ears, but I'm used to seeing them now and I think they look great with their natural ears. People also used to dock jack russells' tails but I am glad Snowy has a full tail and I think she looks great with a tail. So I am in favour of dogs with tails but I do also appreciate that there are medical reasons that require some dogs to be docked.
