My friend gave me a pet...

As a gift she gave me this adorible male betta. He is so handsome. His colors start off as a dark, dark purple and then it flails out to his fins as a really hot pink. We went to Walmart and I saw him in the very back, at the very bottom. I was like, oh no! you are SOOO comming home with me!!

I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him!!! It said that I could buy him an American frog. Do you think I should do that so he doesn't get lonely?

Usually betas don't get lonely, and do better by themselves.

But that's just from my experience.

And I'm not sure about the "frog" thing...I wouldn't know since I've had no experience!

I agree with CamCampup, they do better by themselves, I've had experience too~ but I cant wait to see those pics, he sounds beautiful!

Sounds like a cutie. Getting a frog depends on the size of home he has, it's recommended to keep them in an at least 1gallon sized home. Also, the type of frog you're probably thinking of is an african dwarf frog, those little guys who float alot.lol. The betta should be fine by himself, sometimes they rather prefer it so I wouldn't worry about him getting lonely. Best of luk and Congrats!

Don't know about the frog thing but if you're worried about him getting lonely, you can put up a mirror beside his tank every so often. I do this for about half an hour with my male just to keep him amused.
