Sad news for the Edwards family; not political

I just heard on the news that Elizabeth Edwards has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. She got the diagnosis yesterday after John Kerry and her husband gave their concession speeches. How sad. What a lovely woman. I hope and pray that her prognosis is good. She has two very young children

I am sad for Elizabeth Edwards. I hope that the few days she waited to deal with this weren't harmful towards her treatment. I wish nothing but the best for her.

I heard Logan, that she felt the lump several days ago, had it biopsied but didn't get the results until yesterday. Either way, a wait of a few days would not have affected her chances for a recovery.

I heard on Inside Edition that she felt a strange lump last week and went to the doctor who referred her to a specialist. She decided to wait until the day after the election to see the specialist so she could support her husband.

I don't know if that is accurate or not though.

We in NC are all sad for her too, but optimistic that her chances for recovery are good. John Edwards and his family are part of our NC family and we will be praying for them.

I heard on the radio this evening that the kind that she has is the treatable kind & usually has a good outcome.

It will be a struggle though.

I'd say we've all had people in our families that have had this disease.

My prayers go out to their family. I hate to see this when she has such young children.

I heard about that too. I hope it's still in the very early stage that it's treatable.

The last report I heard was that it was caught very early and had not spread to the lymph nodes.

My thoughts and prayers are with her.
