    Agility Equipment

Does anyone have any tips or good sites on how to make agility equipment?

I'd like to make a few things so I could do agility with the mutts just for fun.

The chairs and brooms is what I use for jumps. To make "wall" jumps I place a blanket that draps over the broom stick and falls to the floor. This way the dog's wont' duck under them and then they also get used to jumping over things they can't see beyond.

Ladders also work. To build a tunnel with a blanket at the end all you have to do is buy a new trash can, cut the buttom out of it and staple a blanket onto the end.

We have been practicing long and hard and have gotten Breeze to jump a jump that is HIGHER then her head!! It was 36' off the ground!!! It was amazing! Breeze loves to jump and play though.

I just use brooms and boxes!

We have a cat tunnel that's big enough for the terriers to run through, some cones I 'rescued' from the roadside which they weave in and out of, jumps made out of boxes, brooms and chairs, a big plastic box that used to be a sandpit for them to jump onto and a wooden bridge that used to lead accross the stream in our old house.

Those are some great ideas Im definatly going to try them!

*EDIT* Also in the house, we used a shower curtain rod, and put it across the doorway into the kitchen, and left it all day, and ocassionaly put it up a bit, and Jasper got used to jumping back and forth, and I would click the clicker and give him a treat whenever I caught him doing it!

I made craptastic jumps once lol. I got lazy haha. I nailed 2 boards together (90 degree angle, the one on top of course in the middle) then nailed nails into the side of the upright (leaving them out some) then took broom stick or something simiar and put one half in the sticky out nails, and the other in our fence lol. (it;s that kind with the little holes in it...) I have a picture somewhere..

Yup. I'm lazy. lol I want to make other things but I don't have supplies/am lazy
