I know! there was nothing in my grade school books about mom dino's caring for their babies- so maternal instinct really does go back to beginning of time!
And it is looking like many adults cared for the young! A "sophistacted" parenting...it is above my head in terms of the anthropology but it seems to be changing the way scientists thought about group parenting and how that was passed down (so to speak). If anyone here is privy to the jargon- feel free to explain! I love penguins but do not get the connection! (remotely, yes)!
