    Tiel training classes?

Milton is my only untamed tiel. I plan to work with him in the winter when I have more time on my hands. However, I'd be willing to take him to some sort of class. Does anyone know of any in the Chicagoland area? I'm thinking of something similar to a dog training class/seminar. I'm really determined to tame my boy .

I've never heard of cockatiel classes. That would be so cool! I'll search around and see if I can find anything like that.

I found a few classes. Most of them are through bird rescues so you might want to contact a bird or cockatiel rescue in your area and ask about classes.

Thanks Aly. I wrote an email to one rescue, but I might call them tomorrow.

I got a reply to my email from the bird rescue. He suggested I talk to their behaviorist or I could volunteer. He said if I volunteer, then I can see how they train their birds and then have Milton tested. I'm not 100% sure what he meant by being tested, but it's something I'm going to look into. I'm pretty sure "tested" means something about how tame he is and not for an illness or anything like that.

I'm thinking that "we" as the humans probably need to be trained on how to train the Cockatiels!!!!! I know that mine could use a little "help" from their untrained mother!!! LOL!!!!

I do't know about classes, but patience is the best for my three. Just spend more time and try to read the sign's most time they will let you know what they want.
They are more smarter than you think. They are just like kids, they will test the boundry's

I know I can tame him without classes. I did it with a very stubborn and old Lutino. I was just thinking about how dogs have all these obedience classes and maybe there was something like that for birds.
