Well, my sister recently got a new 'tiel. She told me that the tiel chose her, like my Nelly did. She was going to get a parakeet, but her tiel, Fred (a.ka. Freddie) stole her heart.
I can tell that they have made such a wonderful bond in just a week or so. Freddie is with her all day. I am sure the first thing she does in the morning is take Fred out so he can sit on her shoulder.
She bought him a carrying case so she brings him to work with her every day. She works at Ben Franklin. (This is where she got Fred.) She works in the framing department, and he sits on her shoulder while she is at work.
First, I went to visit her and Freddie. I could only stay for five minutes. When she answered the door, he was sitting on her shoulder, of course. But, stupid me, I forgot my camera in the car.
The second time, she went to visit my aunt and my mom. Sadly, I wasn't there. She just sat out on the deck with Freddie. I warned her to be careful when she is outside with him, even though his wings are clipped. You can never be too careful!
And FINALLY, she came out to our house. I was so excited. Soda, Cracker, and Freddie were going to have a play date!
Fred doesn't enjoy his carrying case, but he is only in it when she is walking outside. As soon as she got in, he came out and the fun began.
He preferrably wanted to be on her shoulder, but we put him on the back of the couch. I brought Soda over first, since he is more outgoing. We kept them a distance away at first. That didn't stop Soda though! He marched right up to Freddie adn started singing to him!
I went to get my camera so I could take a video, but by the time I got there, he had stopped singing. Silly birdie!
Well, ANYWAY, enough jabber! Here are some pictures of Soda, Cracker, and their new friend!
Soda is looking quite curious!
"Are you sure about this?"
Then Cracker came over to check this new birdie out.
Isn't he handsome?
Then all three went over to the cage to play on the bridge.
I love my Cracker girl.
After this we gave Fred a shower. At first it seemed that he didn't like it, but after a while he started putting his wings out a bit.
A wet, ruffled birdie. Too cute!
How about one of Soda, Cracker, and Otis, for the fun of it?
Don't worry, the dogs are NEVER with the birds unsupervised.
Enjoy!
