Any introduction to new food has to be done gradually. Here's what I did when I switched Max and Speckles to a low-protein diet.
    Week 1
80% old food and 20% new food

    Week 2
70% old food and 30% new food

    Week 3
50% old food and 50% new food

    Week 4
30% old food and 70% new food

    Week 5
10% old food and 90% new food

    Week 6
    100% new food

If you don't do it gradually, it can cause tummy upset and the runs.

    Good luck.

The better the food less tummy problems. Whenever we've switched it's always been to better grade food. So mixing old with new for 2 weeks tops is all I had to do with our gang. We went from Science Diet Light/Purna One mix (it helped SDL last longer) to Nutro.

Your welcome. We were also lucky with Eleanor when we adopted her at PetSmart. They were feeding her Friskies, I think or something similar to that for a week and we had to just start her right on Nutro (which is superior food). We had no problems. I know we would of had problems if we hadn't had the Nutro.
